Pep Boys sells Shelter Logic garages for almost $300 out the door. Thought this was a good deal until it took my husband (a contractor with 20+ years experience) 6 hours to put together with the help of my brother.

Then, after just 2 months, the whole thing caved in and was totally ruined by one rain storm. We called Pep Boys and they wouldn't take the return even though we still had our receipt. We called Shelter Logic and they also declined to stand behind their product.

Won't ever buy anything from Pep Boys again as they don't stand behind what they sell. That *** garage cost me $150/month and now I have nothing!

Monetary Loss: $281.

Location: Antelope, California

almost 2 years old and the cover is dissolving. The *** on cus.

service said I should have UV proofed it??

They want from me as much for the cover as the thing was worth. They don't even make it they order it in from our friends in China.I will repair it with tarps and duct tape before they get another nickle from me.

We bought the 10x20 shelter logic back in 2007, and so far we made it through five New England winters!! Common sense is to get the snow of the roof, otherwise it will cave in earlier and eventually break.

However, I think it was a very good deal at $140ish or so after rebate etc. I'm about to buy another one now, because this one is old and teared apart from wind.

As a former employee of ShelterLogic, I can attest to the hundreds of compliant phone calls received on a weekly basis. The products are garbage and the company is just as shady as the trash that they sell.

It was heartbreaking having to hear story after story of people that purchased these instant shelters only to have them collapse. We were told to tell people that they cannot withstand snow load yet they were sold in the coldest and snowiest parts of Canada.

Bad company. Don't waste your money on them!

absolutly right they do not hold up to any gaurantee excuse after excduse they want the money but won't ecven repalce anything all I can say is BUYER BEWARE and if I am ever at a store and see someone buying or even looking at 1 I will tell them and I will always make sure I have the pics to back it upthat is why we have BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU

The shelter worked just fine for 2 months, then you broke it, and you want a refund??? Really?!?!?

WOW.

With a return policy like that, there wouldn't BE a pep boys. Or any store for that matter.

It sounds like your unemployed husband did not assemble the item correctly. It should have lasted through rain.

Wind would be another story.

For $300, I wouldn't expect a car shelter to stand up through anything more than a slight breeze.

This is why people spend $10,000 on a GARAGE. or $1000 for an Aluminum shelter.

Who said her Husband was unemployed? Seems like you need some reading lessons.
